Thomson Odoki

Thomson holds a Master’s degree in Management Studies and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Project Planning and Management from Uganda Management Institute (UMI). Also has a Bachelor’s of Social Work and Social Administration from Makerere University, Kampala. He has 10 years’ experience as consultant for strategic planning and management, monitoring and evaluation of programmes/projects including conducting baseline surveys and mapping for NGOs implementing health, vulnerable children and micro finance, advocacy and behaviour change communication. Thomson successfully led a five technical team of consultants in conducting a mapping of vulnerable children services for developing strategic plans in Uganda for the Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development in East Central zone. He has also led a team in carrying out baseline survey and market survey for micro- finance by AIDS Healthcare Foundation/Uganda Care program, vulnerable and HIV/AIDS programs for Hope Case Foundation and Friends of Christ Revival Ministries respectively. Thomson conducted children right project evaluation in Karamoja, Uganda for Friends of Christ Revival Ministries. He was a consultant for mid-term reviews for the Royal Netherlands Embassy Sponsored District Local Government Support Programme in West Nile and IFAD funded District Development Support Programme of the districts in western Uganda.

Katende Moses

Moses is the H.J Heinz Fellow in Global Health at the University of Pittsburgh, the United States. He holds a Master of Public Health Leadership of Uganda Christian University, Post graduate Diploma in Children, Youth and Development of the Institute of Social Studies, The Hague, The Netherlands, Bachelor of Adult and Community Education of Makerere University. Moses has experience in the held of development training and programming spanning over 10 years. He has been involved in assessing and evaluation of development programs both in Uganda and beyond. Between 2006 and 2008, he was a quality assurance consultant for the Annual Assessment of Local Governments in Uganda. Likewise, he was a team leader during the national assessment of Local Governments in Tanzania, 2009. In 2004, he was a facilitator during the orientation, induction and capacity building of all newly recruited Community Development officers at Nsamizi Institute of Social Development. Moses is well versed with initiating and maintenance of strategic partnerships and networking with all other stakeholders, skilled in participatory techniques in research and training, including development and designing of IEC materials for BCC. Currently, works as a Capacity Building Advisor at UPIMAC.

Joseph Nyakana

Joseph is a versatile educator, trainer, social worker and Social policy analyst working with children and young people in communities, schools and universities. He holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master of Comparative Social Work (MCSW) Master of Arts Degree in Social Sector Planning and Management (MA.SSPM) and a Master of Arts in Development Studies (specializing in Population, Poverty and Social Development). He also has a Bachelors degree in Social work and Social Administration and a Diploma in Education.

He has proven leadership skills and experience in the area of staff development, community development initiatives and curricular development. He is a national facilitator of Human Rights Based Approaches, Reproductive Health, leadership development, and Quality Assurance for Higher Learning. Joseph has over 16 years of experience working with developing groups, communities and Policy makers. He has 13 years of strong educational and operations management experience to provide results-oriented quality management consulting with civil society organisations and public institutions. He works with educators internally, focusing on Quality Assurance in Higher Institutions of Learning for effective teaching and Learning, focusing on personal productivity and effectiveness for sustainable development. He is also a social scientist researcher and social policy analyst on topical issues affecting poor and vulnerable communities.

Nyakana Joseph is a highly motivated team player, sound business judgment, flexible, client focused, proactive and dedicated professional with strong interpersonal skills, analytical skills and personal motivation to achieve excellence backed with experience in teaching, solving social problems, process improvement, Quality assurance and Social development over the past 16 years. 

As a trainer, social policy advocate, curriculum development specialist and quality assurance specialist, Nyakana has experience in Corporate governance, Training, leadership skills, Team work and Team building processes, Performance management, Change management skills, Organizational Development, Strategic planning and strategy formulation, Competence analysis and profiling, Career development, Talent management, Corporate social responsibility, Monitoring and evaluation, New product development, Curriculum review, Monitoring and Evaluation of Quality Assurance as well as Lobbying and advocacy.

Freddie Mawanga

Freddie holds a Masters in Management Studies (Management) from Uganda Management Institute, Postgraduate Diploma in Computer Science, Bachelor of Science (Maths/Physics) and concurrent Diploma in Education all from Makerere University. An ICT specialist and does designing and facilitating training modules in Quantitative Methods, Research Methodology, Project Planning and Management, Monitoring and Evaluation, General Management and general ICT concepts; Designing, Conducting and Analyzing Data in Social-Economic Research Studies; Supervising Human Resources and Managing projects within organizational on-going activities. Freddie is competent in SPSS, EViews, STATA, Epi Info statistical packages for data analysis and to the Microsoft office suite of programs. He is trained as a Trainer of Trainers (TOT).

Anne Tumusiime

Annie holds Master’s of Arts degree in Gender Studies from Makerere University, Post graduate Certificate in Research from Centre for Basic Research and BA’s degree in Social Science of Makerere University Kampala, Uganda. Annah has been a gender specialist with UPIMAC for the Gender Violence project in East Central region. For six years she worked with the Community Banking Program with Feed The Children as Senior Credit Officer and has extensive experience working with communities and capacity building and Gender Analysis and Planning. She lecture and supervise research students at Nsamizi training Institute and Bugema University to undergraduate students.

Regina Nakayenga

Regina has an Executive MBA (Masters in Business Administration) from Eastern and Southern Management Institute/ Maastricht School of Management (ESAMI/MSM) and  Bachelor of Adult and Community Education (BACE) from Makerere University, Kampala. Regina has vast and extensive experience in conducting baseline surveys, and assessment/evaluation of development programs in Uganda, Sudan, Tanzania and Rwanda.

Livingstone Kamugisha

Livingstone has a Master’s degree in Development Studies of Nkumba University, Bachelor of Statistics degree from Makerere University, Diploma in Project Planning and Management, Diploma in Business Management, Diploma in Human Rights from Nkumba University. He has over 13 years of programme management, results based monitoring and evaluation and 9 years in counseling grieving children and people living with HIV/AIDS and organic farming. He is competent in quality assurance design, effective communication for behavioral change, gender development, human resource development planning, support supervision, staff induction, quality assessment, community resource mapping, Development policy analysis and planning,  pre-investment analysis, financial management, Advocacy initiatives, operations research, Participatory methods, Statistical computing, Design and analysis survey, Bio statistics, data modeling and analysis, Criminal law, human rights, children rights, family law, Gender and human rights, media and human rights, human rights and refugees, international and regional human rights,  MS-Word, MS-power point, Microsoft office, MS access, internet, is versed with statistical packages-Epinfo, SPSS, stata, ANOVA and NCSSM.

Hon. Sheila Mukabakooba Kawamara Mishambi

Sheila has a Masters of Arts in Development Studies, Politics of Alternative Development Strategies; specializing in Politics, Women, Environment and Sustainable Development from the Institute of Social Studies, The Hague, The Netherlands, 1995; Post-Graduate, Diploma in Journalism, Uganda Management Institute, Kampala, Uganda, 1992 and Bachelor’s Degree in Arts with Education, Majoring in Economics and History, Makerere University, Kampala, Uganda, 1989. She is Development specialist and trainer with over 25 year’s expertise in leadership, journalism, communication, human rights, gender and development, project planning, development and implementation, project monitoring and evaluation, organizational self-assessment, organizational development, NGO management, policy analysis, lobbying and advocacy, legislation, political analysis and community development.

 Dorah Mafabi

Dorah has over 10 years experience in legal practice with Master of Laws (in Law and the Global Economy) U.S, Master of Laws in International and Comparative Law, Sinagpore, Post graduate diploma in law, LDC and LLB from Makerere University. She has conducted consultancies that include;

  • Consultant on draft sexual offences’ Bill 2012, amendments to the Succession Act, Trafficking in Persons, Female Genital Mutilation Act, Domestic Violence Act and Evidence Act, (Uganda Women Parliamentary Association July 2013 –on going) Duties:Developing draft sexual offences bill, undertaking research, developing advocacy strategy for the bill and script for documentary on sexual offences;
  • In-country-Consultant, (International Organisation for Migration August 2013 –on going) Duties: Undertaking baseline on trafficking in persons in Uganda and supporting development of standardized information packs for victims of trafficking in persons;
  • Lead Researcher-Access to Justice, (Public Interest Law Clinic/ School of Law –Makerere University March 2013 – on going) Duties:Undertaking research on access to justice and the legal aid policy. The research, “Legal aid: a tenet for access to justice for women with disabilities in post conflict northern Uganda”, is aimed at identifying barriers to access to justice for women in post conflict areas. The findings of the research will be used to inform the final drafting of the national legal aid policy;

National Coordinator, (Food first Information and Action Network (FIAN) Germany, November 2012 – April 2013) Duties: supporting process for the national workshop on the right to adequate food, and development of a local FIAN chapter in Uganda.

 

Sarah Amulo

Sarah holds a Post-graduate diploma in Monitoring and Evaluation of Uganda Management Institute, Masters Arts in Development Studies from Uganda Martyrs University and Bachelors in Social Work and Social Administration Makerere University-Uganda. A development specialist with 20 years working experience. She has been consultant for the Evaluation of WASH program in Imvepi refugee camp in west Nile Uganda. Susan has excellent Qualitative and qualitative data analysis skills, advanced project design and writing skills and M&E and impact measurement skills. Conducting a tracer survey for Yei Teacher Training College 310 students disrupted during to July 2016 war in South Sudan. Baseline survey for Aweil in-service teacher training project, South Sudan. Light My Fire funds small women groups and movements worldwide to enhance the life and dignity of women and girls. PCO is a vibrant national NGO in South Sudan implementing education and livelihood improvement programs. SFA is a girl mentorship organisation that works to increase interest of rural girls and boys in school. Evaluation of the Lutheran World Federation Uganda country strategy 2010-2015
